Regional development plans discussed in Northern Greece

The progress of regional development plans and issues related to Macedonia and Western Thrace were the focus of a meeting held today (January 10, Friday) in Thessaloniki. The meeting was organized by Konstantinos Giulekas, Deputy Minister of the Interior responsible for Macedonia and Thrace, and attended by Central Macedonia Governor Athina Aidona, Western Macedonia Governor Yorgos Amanatidis, and Eastern Macedonia-Thrace Governor Christodoulos Topsidis.
In his opening remarks, Giulekas emphasized the government's priority of highlighting each region's unique advantages to create job opportunities and encourage young people to stay in their hometowns. He stressed the importance of strengthening collaboration between the Ministry for Macedonia and Thrace and the three regions to improve citizens' quality of life and promote balanced development in Northern Greece.
The meeting covered ongoing, completed, and planned projects as part of the regional development strategy. Plans include public information events in every regional capital, supported by ministries, local governments, and businesses, focusing on investment tools, workforce training, and export guidance.
