Paediatric intensive care unit to be established at Alexandroupoli University Hospital
As a result of the meeting held by the board of directors of Alexandroupoli Hospital, it was announced that a unanimous decision was taken to establish a ‘Special Intensive Care Unit for Children’ to operate within the hospital.
According to the decision in question, it was stated that if the legal conditions are met in the following process, in parallel with the work initiated for the establishment of the unit, the board of directors may take a new decision regarding the process.
Regarding the equipment of the ‘Special Paediatric Intensive Care Unit’, it was stated that the Greek natural gas company Gastrade undertook to donate two beds and equipment in the first year of the establishment of the unit, 2 beds in the second year and two beds in the third year.
On the other hand, it was stated that the minimum number of beds required for the operation of a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit is 6.
