The Municipality of Komotini has been awarded the prestigious URBACT Good Practice Label for its project “Komotini, an Accessible City for All.” Chosen among numerous cities across Europe, Komotini stands out alongside Kavala as one of only two cities in Greece to receive this honor.

In a statement, Komotini Municipality highlighted the project’s innovation and commitment to inclusivity, emphasizing its goal to create a city that supports and embraces all residents, especially those with disabilities. "Our initiative underscores our commitment to building a city that welcomes and supports all of its inhabitants," the statement read.

The award ceremony is set to take place in Braslaw, Poland, from April 8 to 10 next year.

The URBACT Good Practice Label recognizes exemplary practices among European cities. URBACT, an EU program, promotes knowledge sharing, exchange of experiences, and the development of innovative urban solutions across Europe.
