Meral Karapaça laid to rest in Gümülcine
Meral Karapaça, mother of Serdar Karapaça, a staff member at the Turkish Consulate General in Gümülcine, was laid to rest on Friday following a funeral ceremony in the city.
A condolence gathering was first held at the family home in Gümülcine, where Karapaça’s family accepted condolences from relatives, friends and members of the community.
The funeral was attended by Turkish Consul General in Gümülcine (Komotini) Aykut Ünal and his wife İlayda Ünal, consulate staff, Gümülcine Mufti İbrahim Şerif, Friendship Equality Peace (DEB) Party leader Çiğdem Asafoğlu, representatives of Western Thrace Turkish minority organizations and many members of the community.
Following the afternoon prayer, the funeral prayer was led by Mufti İbrahim Şerif. Meral Karapaça was later buried at the Yenice neighbourhood cemetery in Gümülcine with prayers.
May she rest in peace; condolences are extended to Serdar Karapaça, his family and loved ones.
