Hundreds of cognates met for iftar in Mıkmıllı village of Xanthi
Hundreds of cognates attended the iftar programme organised in Mıkmıllı, one of the villages in the South part of Xanthi, on Monday, 18 March.
The iftar, which was traditionally organised by the Xanthi Ova Culture Solidarity and Brothrhood Association and the Board of Trustees of Mıkmıllı village with the contributions of the Mufti's Office of Xanthi, took place on Monday 18 March with great participation and enthusiasm.
Mufti of Xanthi Mustafa Trampa, Ramadan Duban representing the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Komotini Aykut Ünal, Xanthi MP Burhan Baran, President of the FEP Party Çiğdem Asafoğlu, Mayor of Topiros (İnhanlı) Thomas Mihoğlu, President of the Xanthi Chamber of Industry and Commerce Stelyos Moraitis, members of the provincial council, local administrators, municipal council members and heads of non-governmental organisations were also present at the iftar programme.
In his greeting speech, Mufti Trampa said: "The fact that Ramadan brings us together like this shows that it is a month of great blessing and mercy in terms of strengthening our unity, solidarity and brotherhood. I would like to congratulate the officials of Ova Culture Solidarity and Brotherhood Association, the Board of Trustees of Mıkmıllı (Mikrohori) village and the young people of Mıkmıllı who contributed to this magnificent iftar organisation. I would also like to thank all the participants who created this magnificent picture from far and near."
In the iftar program, Topiros Mayor Thomas Mihoglu, FEP Party President Çiğdem Asafoğlu, XTU President Ozan Ahmetoğlu, WTMGA President Hüseyin Baltacı and Xanthi Deputy Burhan Baran also made a short greeting speech.
Ömer Muzafferoğlu, President of Ova Culture Solidarity Brotherhood Association, thanked everyone who participated in the iftar invitations in his speech.
The collective iftar enthusiasm in Xanthi will continue on Friday 22 March with the iftar in Gencerli village in the South part of Greece.
