On September 26, a groundbreaking procedure was performed at Alexandroupoli Hospital, where a lung cancer patient received subcutaneous immunotherapy for the first time.
According to media reports, this treatment was the first of its kind at Alexandroupoli Hospital, and the procedure lasted only seven minutes, leading to highly positive outcomes for both patients and medical staff.
Paschalis Steiropoulos, Director of the Pulmonology Clinic, commented on the new method, stating, "This was the first subcutaneous administration for lung cancer in Greece. The new technique has a shorter application time, reducing the patients' hospital stay and improving their quality of life. Patients can attend to their jobs and other obligations without spending excessive time at the hospital."
Steiropoulos concluded by congratulating the hospital staff for pioneering this achievement.
