Electricity hike reaction from Özgür Ferhat

Özgür Ferhat, Member of the Central Executive Board of the SYRIZA Party and Deputy Chairman of the Rhodope Provincial Organization, criticized the YDP government, which raised electricity prices.

Özgür Ferhat made a statement criticizing the decision of the YDP government to increase the kWh price of electricity from 0.1 to 0.8.

Özgür Ferhat criticized the YDP government, which did not take into account the measures and warnings they presented to the government about the electricity hike of the main opposition SYRIZA months ago and the solution proposals.

“This winter, our family budgets will not only be strained, they will be doomed to destruction. 
We have come to the last point in terms of electricity that we need to live.

"Unfortunately, a dark winter is waiting for thousands of families," he said.

In his statement, Ferhat said, "Months ago, we announced that the crisis to be experienced in the energy sector and that the first and most severe signs of this situation will appear in the electricity prices we use, and we asked the current government to take action immediately. 
We have repeatedly emphasized this situation as a party and personally in local and general political environments, and demanded the opening of solutions by offering suggestions.

Despite all our warnings and calls, the government decided to increase the kWh price of electricity from 0.1 to 0.8. Therefore, we see an increase of 62.4% in a month.

During our stay in government in 2015-2019, almost no raises were made. The New Democracy government on the other hand, increased by sixty percent in a month. 
Others compete for seats with fairy tales and fabricated discourses, but we only think about the welfare of our people and their desire to live humanely and act accordingly. This is our difference."
