Parliament will hold a special plenary session on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 12:00 noon to debate and vote on requests to lift the parliamentary immunity of 13 ruling New Democracy (ND) MPs.

The decision was made by the Conference of Presidents on Thursday, following the submission of two new case files by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office. The cases concern alleged involvement by the MPs in facilitating subsidy-related matters for farmers and livestock breeders through OPEKEPE, Greece’s agency responsible for managing EU agricultural payments.

The MPs named in the requests are Katerina Papakosta, Kostas Karamanlis, Yiannis Kefalogiannis, Notis Mitarachi, Kostas Tsiaras, Kostas Skrekas, Dimitris Vartzopoulos, Maximos Senetakis, Lakis Vasiliadis, Christos Boukoros, Theofilos Leontaridis, Charalambos Athanasiou, and Tasos Chatzivasileiou.

On the same day, earlier in the morning, Parliament will also discuss and vote on a draft law from the Ministry of National Defense, along with two agreements with Italy and Poland on the mutual protection of classified information.
