Family medicine crisis resolved: Good news for Western Thrace Turks in Turkiye
The family medicine issue affecting members of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority from Greece who live in Turkiye for nearly a year has been resolved.
The Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association (BTTDD) announced that the longstanding problem faced by Western Thrace Turks residing in Turkiye has been addressed through new regulations.
Under the new arrangement, citizens whose records had been removed from the system have had them restored, and they have been automatically reassigned to family doctors.
In a statement from the BTTDD headquarters, it was emphasized that intensive efforts were made from the outset to resolve the issue. With the new measures, citizens have been re-included on the lists of the family doctors they were previously registered with, effectively eliminating a significant grievance.
The statement also expressed satisfaction with the positive outcome and extended thanks to those who contributed to the resolution. In particular, individuals such as Kürşad Zorlu, Hasan Öztürk, İlhami Aktaş, Tahir Büyükakın, Muhammed Emin Demirkol, and Murat Ağırtaş were acknowledged for their support on behalf of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority.
The contributions of BTTDD İzmit Branch President Yüksel Öztürk and former Zeytinburnu branch president Fatih Hacıbedel were also highlighted.
The BTTDD emphasized that efforts to resolve issues faced by the Western Thrace Turkish Minority will continue with determination, and the process will be closely monitored to prevent similar grievances from occurring in the future.
