Fenerbahçe close in on Lukaku as Beşiktaş complete Vlahovic deal

Fenerbahçe are closing in on the signing of Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku after reportedly reaching an agreement with Napoli and the 33-year-old forward, while Turkish rivals Beşiktaş have completed the signing of Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic.

Lukaku set for Istanbul

Lukaku is expected to travel to Istanbul for a medical before signing a two-year contract with Fenerbahçe, according to reports in Italy and Türkiye.

Fenerbahçe are reportedly set to pay Napoli an initial fee of just over 6 million euros, with the total potentially increasing through bonuses. Lukaku’s annual earnings are expected to be between 8 million and 10 million euros, depending on performance-related payments.

The move would end Lukaku’s two-year spell at Napoli, where he helped the club win the Serie A title in the 2024-25 season.

Vlahovic joins Beşiktaş

Beşiktaş have meanwhile completed the signing of 26-year-old Dusan Vlahovic from Juventus.

The Turkish club announced the transfer through the Public Disclosure Platform and said it had begun official discussions with the Serbian striker.

Vlahovic arrived in Istanbul and told Beşiktaş supporters he was excited to join the club and wanted to win the championship.

“I want us to become champions. I am very happy and cannot wait to play,” Vlahovic said.

Turkish clubs strengthen attacks

Lukaku would add considerable experience and physical presence to Fenerbahçe’s attack, having played for clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Roma and Napoli.

Fenerbahçe are also competing in European qualification and could continue strengthening their squad before the transfer window closes.

Beşiktaş, meanwhile, will hope Vlahovic can provide goals and help the club challenge for domestic honours after his move from Juventus.
