Salah on verge of blockbuster Beşiktaş move: Reports
Beşiktaş have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah, with the club aiming to complete his medical examination and contract signing early next week.
According to reports by Foot Mercato and transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the 34-year-old free agent has agreed in principle to join the Istanbul club on a one-year contract with an option for a further season.
The reported deal would see Salah earn a guaranteed annual salary of €10 million, with performance-related bonuses of up to €2 million.
Beşiktaş have yet to officially announce the signing.
Medical and signing expected next week
Reports say Salah has given the green light for the move, with club officials planning to finalize the remaining procedures, including medical tests and the signing of the contract, at the beginning of next week.
Earlier reports indicated the Egyptian initially sought €15 million per season before lowering his wage demands during negotiations. His legal representative also reportedly traveled to Istanbul to discuss the final details of the agreement.
Free transfer after Liverpool departure
Salah is available on a free transfer following the expiration of his Liverpool contract at the end of the 2025-26 season.
The Egyptian leaves Anfield after nine seasons, during which he established himself as one of the club's greatest players, scoring 257 goals and providing 120 assists in 442 appearances.
Liverpool's all-time third-highest goalscorer helped the club win the UEFA Champions League, two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.
Beşiktaş continue ambitious rebuild
The move would represent another major statement in Beşiktaş's summer transfer campaign under head coach Vincenzo Italiano.
The Black Eagles recently completed the signing of Belgian international Leandro Trossard from Arsenal and are now targeting Salah as another marquee addition to strengthen their attack.
Fans rally behind Salah transfer
Speculation over Salah's arrival intensified during Trossard's unveiling at Tüpraş Stadium, where thousands of Beşiktaş supporters urged club president Serdal Adalı to complete the signing.
Fans repeatedly chanted, "Ya Allah, Bismillah, Mohamed Salah," reflecting growing excitement over the prospect of the Egyptian star joining the Istanbul giants.
While multiple media outlets report that an agreement has been reached in principle, Beşiktaş have not yet confirmed the transfer officially.
