Undecided voters reach 20% as Greeks cut back on meat and fish
A new survey by Interview, conducted for Politic.gr, reveals a sharp rise in undecided voters in Greece alongside mounting economic pressures affecting households’ daily consumption habits.
While party support remains relatively stable, the poll highlights a significant shift: undecided voters have reached 19.9%, a figure that could substantially influence the political landscape ahead of the next election.
Voting Intentions
According to the poll:
- New Democracy remains in the lead with 24.1%,
- PASOK follows with 13.5%,
- but the nearly 20% undecided bloc introduces major uncertainty.
When Will Undecided Voters Decide?
Among undecided respondents:
- 59% will decide only a few days before the election,
- 30% will make up their mind weeks in advance,
- 5% will choose at the last moment, at the ballot box.
Low Trust in Political Leaders
When asked which political leader they trust:
- “None of them” rose to 35.7%,
- Kyriakos Mitsotakis scored 28.8%,
- Nikos Androulakis followed with 9.8%.
- These figures point to a broader skepticism toward the political system.
Public Mood and Key Concerns
Regarding the country’s overall direction:
- 67% believe Greece is on the wrong path,
- 30% say it is moving in the right direction.
Top public concerns include:
- Economic crisis and high prices – 52%
- Demographic issues – 21%
- Wages and pensions – 19%
- Housing issues – 7%
