Hackathon Jointly Organized by Türkiye and Greece
An international hackathon co-hosted with Greece has drawn over 120 teams from Türkiye. This collaboration in the technology sector is bringing together young programmers and tech enthusiasts from both countries.

A Packed Year at Informatics Valley
Erkam Tüzgen, General Manager of Informatics Valley, spoke to Anadolu Agency (AA) about last year’s achievements and this year’s objectives. He noted that in 2024, the valley welcomed more than 6,000 students and focused on fostering a vision of technology production.
"Through competitions and hackathon events organized within the scope of TEKNOFEST, we are bringing our youth closer to technology and contributing to Türkiye's technological transformation," Tüzgen said.

International Expansion and New Initiatives
Informatics Valley continues its efforts to expand internationally. Following the successful completion of a six-month incubation program in Azerbaijan, the organization is now preparing to launch a similar initiative in Eastern Europe. Tüzgen emphasized the importance of international projects for the region.

Excitement for the Greece-Türkiye Hackathon
The first-ever international hackathon between Türkiye and Greece aims to strengthen technological cooperation between the two nations.

The event has attracted significant interest, with over 120 teams from Türkiye applying to participate. The initial phase will take place in Türkiye, while the final round and award ceremony will be held in Greece.

Participants will focus on developing projects in areas such as smart city technologies, sustainability, and eco-friendly applications. Tüzgen highlighted that this collaboration would open new technological opportunities for both countries and help young people realize their potential.

Terminal Istanbul and New Focus Areas
Informatics Valley plans to establish a new incubation center called "Terminal Istanbul," which will serve as a global hub for both Turkish and international entrepreneurs.

Additionally, Tüzgen announced plans to add new competitions to TEKNOFEST, reinforcing Türkiye's leadership in technological innovation. "We are working with all our strength to transform Türkiye into a country that produces technology," Tüzgen stated.

This hackathon is not only about producing technology but also serves as a significant step toward strengthening cultural and economic ties between Türkiye and Greece.
