SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Socratis Famellos, during the first meeting of the party's Executive Bureau with its new composition, stressed that the party must be the real opposition, inside and outside the Parliament, as it did throughout December.

According to party sources, he pointed out that all initiatives must be based on the values of the Left and stressed that the serious problems of society must be prioritised. Famellos also proposed parliamentary initiatives on economic issues such as housing and the agricultural sector. On the issue of the President of the Hellenic Republic, Famellos advocated a progressive candidacy.
