Reports on SYRIZA leader's businesses raise 'questions that demand answers', New Democracy says

A series of reports in the press concerning the business activities of main opposition leader Stefanos Kasselakis "add new and important questions concerning the violation of the law by the president of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, his labyrinth of businesses and the routes of his money," the ruling New Democracy party said in an announcement on Sunday.

These "are now pressing and demand specific answers," the announcement said, stressing that ND will not stop asking for them, and presenting a list of five questions concerning:

1. The identity of the main shareholder of the company Osios LLC and the person who signed for the loan to Left Media.

2. The out-of-court settlement reached by the Kasselakis family in 2018, how it was paid and by whom and whether this was linked to the buyout of the family firm by a listed company then run by Kasselakis.

3. The source of the capital used to found Phila Coatings Inc and the role of the Greece-based company The Phila Coatings Naftiliaka Chromata kai Epichrismata MEPE.

4. Whether it was usual for a CEO to buy his company and whether the shareholders of the listed firm Tiptree Inc were aware of the activities of its subsidiary Tiptree Marine.

5. Why Phila Coatings has as its headquarters the luxury villa where the Kasselakis family spent the holidays and how the villa was bought.
