Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has tested positive for COVID-19, the government announced on Tuesday evening. Despite experiencing only mild symptoms, Mitsotakis has been working from his office since Wednesday morning.

The scheduled cabinet meeting at noon will take place via video conference. According to sources from the Prime Minister’s office, Mitsotakis will participate fully and use the opportunity to stress the need for accelerating government reforms during a critical period for the country.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister is expected to attend an outdoor event at the Ministry of National Defense  to inaugurate the building’s newly renovated bioclimatic façade. Mitsotakis will wear a protective mask while addressing attendees.

The government emphasizes that, despite the COVID diagnosis, official duties will continue uninterrupted, reflecting both continuity and adaptation in public service amid ongoing pandemic considerations.
