Polls show New Democracy strengthening its lead in Greece

A survey by ALCO for Alpha TV places New Democracy at 25.1% in voting intention, up 1.6 percentage points. The party maintains a lead of 14.3 points over PASOK, which stands at 10.8% after a slight increase of 0.3 points.

The poll also shows small gains for SYRIZA and the Communist Party (KKE), while Greek Solution and Course of Freedom recorded declines. The share of undecided voters rose to 18.9%.

A separate poll by Opinion Poll for Action 24 shows a similar trend.

In vote estimation, New Democracy rose 2.5 points compared to January to reach 32.7%, opening a 19.5-point lead over PASOK at 13.2%.

SYRIZA recorded a small increase to 4.7%, while KKE, Greek Solution and Course of Freedom saw slight losses.

Government officials attribute part of the rise in support to recent foreign policy moves, including the joint presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and French President Emmanuel Macron in Cyprus.

The government now faces a crucial period ahead, with tackling inflation and supporting households expected to remain key political priorities.
