ND maintains strong lead in latest opinion poll; 16.2% of voters still undecided
Greece’s ruling New Democracy (ND) party continues to hold a commanding lead over its political rivals, according to a new nationwide poll conducted by the GPO polling firm and presented Thursday evening on a primetime newscast.
The center-right party leads by 12.4 percentage points over its closest competitor, despite a slight dip in support compared to previous polling. ND garnered 24.7% of voter preference—down one point from GPO's June survey, yet consistent with its September standing following the government’s announcement of tax relief measures.
PASOK is in second place with 12.3%, gaining ground from 11.2% in mid-September. The right-wing Elliniki Lysi (Greek Solution) holds third place with 9.8%.
Three other parties surpassed the 3% threshold required for parliamentary representation:
Plefsi Eleftherias (Course of Freedom) and the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) are tied at 7.9%, with Plefsi experiencing a sharp decline of 4.5 percentage points.
SYRIZA, once the main opposition party, trails with 5.2%.
A significant portion of the electorate—16.2%—remains undecided, underscoring a level of uncertainty and fluidity in the political landscape.
In terms of leadership preferences, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis continues to be viewed as the most suitable figure for the premiership, receiving support from 27.8% of respondents. He is followed by PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis, who trails with 10.4%.
The findings come as Greece navigates a challenging political and economic environment, with parties positioning themselves ahead of potential early elections or shifts in public sentiment.
