Panagiotis Giannakoulias appointed new spokesperson for Greek Foreign Ministry
Giannakoulias, a First Counsellor at the Greek diplomatic service, assumed his new duties on Thursday following a decision by Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis.
New spokesperson takes over Foreign Ministry briefings
Giannakoulias will be responsible for the ministry’s regular public briefings on the positions and activities of Greek diplomacy.
His appointment comes as part of broader personnel changes within Greece’s diplomatic corps and the ministry’s Information Service.
Gerapetritis thanked outgoing spokesperson Lana Zochiou for her contribution to the ministry’s Information Service and wished her continued success in her diplomatic career.
The change places Giannakoulias at the center of the ministry’s public communication as Greece continues to address a range of regional and international diplomatic issues.
