Mitsotakis receives the mandate to form the government

President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou has given the task of forming a government to the winner of yesterday's elections, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, leader of the New Democracy Party.
Sakellaropulu, who received Mitsotakis in her office, said that she gave him the task of forming the government.
Emphasising that he felt a great responsibility towards the Greek people, Mitsotakis said, "From the very beginning, I aimed for our country to have a stable and strong government."
Mitsotakis stated that he planned major reforms during his second 4-year term of office.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis was sworn in as prime minister at 13.00.
The new cabinet will be announced at 17.00.
