Greece sets Nov. 3 deadline for asset declarations
Around 300,000 people in Greece are required to submit their 2026 asset declarations, known as “pothen esches,” by Nov. 3, with filings completed electronically through the government’s designated platform.
The declarations are submitted via pothen.gr using personal Taxisnet credentials. Applicants must review pre-filled information, add details that have not been retrieved automatically and correct any inaccuracies or omissions before finalizing their submissions.
Who is required to file
The obligation applies to specific categories of individuals in the public, political, judicial and private sectors, including politicians, elected officials, certain public servants and senior officials, as well as professionals covered by the relevant legislation.
Eligibility is determined by each individual’s position and the provisions of Law 5026/2023, which governs asset declarations and related disclosure requirements.
What the declarations include
The filing process covers an asset declaration and, where required, a separate declaration of financial interests.
The disclosures concern assets held during the previous year, with additional obligations applying in relevant cases to spouses or civil partners and minor children.
Those required to file are advised to check their information carefully and ensure that all necessary details are submitted before the deadline to avoid omissions or inaccuracies.
