Kavala plays a key role in northern Greece’s development

Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Thanasis Kontogeorgis, during a visit with a government delegation to Kavala, stressed that "despite the difficulties faced by the region, it has significant competitive advantages that form the basis for strong future growth. Kavala and Thassos hide remarkable opportunities that require targeted interventions to bear fruit in the recovery of the local economy and the improvement of living conditions for residents," he noted. 

According to a statement from the Presidency of the Government, the key issues that require immediate attention include the management of water resources, the upgrading of infrastructure and networks, and addressing demographic challenges.

One billion euros has been allocated for the implementation of the Kavala Local Development Plan.
