In a statement posted on social media, Kasselakis said the renaming from “Movement for Democracy” represents a substantive political shift rather than a simple change of title. He described the decision as a conscious move toward unity, broader appeal and a forward-looking strategy.

According to Kasselakis, the new name reflects the party’s commitment to democracy, institutional credibility, social justice and bold reform policies. He also outlined plans to build what he called a strong and reliable political force aimed at bringing citizens together beyond the divisions of the past.

Thanking members for their strong participation, he said the clear majority provides the leadership with “clear legitimacy and a clear direction.”

“From today, we move forward united. With confidence. With a plan. With optimism for the country. The next chapter begins now,” Kasselakis said, signaling the start of a new political and organizational phase for the party.
