How people do this to people at the border?

It is said that “Greek elements” brought the immigrants to the middle of the river (Evros) and threw them into the water half-naked. Then they left them to die in the freezing cold that fell to 0 degrees at midnight.

Border security forces beat a group of immigrants, including women and children, who had crossed into their country illegally, and after taking their money and cellphones, they pushed them back to Türkiye by boat over the Evros (Meriç) River, in violation of international law.

Iranian Alinir Rashadi, who was hit by the Greek security forces, said, "On the Greek side, 4-5 people beat me at once. They beat me so much that I fainted. Then when I came to my senses, they picked us up and sent us back with a boat. They hit me with a fist and a tree."

According to the news of DHA, a group of immigrants, including women and children, who illegally crossed into Greece from Edirne, were caught by the Greek border security forces.

After keeping the immigrants in an unknown place for a few days, the security forces took their money, valuables and clothes, beat them and pushed them back to Türkiye over the Evros (Meriç) River.

The Greek elements brought some immigrants to the middle of the river and threw them into the water half-naked, left them to die in the freezing cold that fell to 0 degrees at night in the region.

While they were pushed back hungry and thirsty, Turkish soldiers took care of the immigrants who struggled to survive for hours in cold weather.

Immigrants who were tired and injured were treated in Edirne after being warmed by a fire and taken to the Provincial Immigration Administration.

"WOMEN ALSO BEATED"

Women immigrants from Afghanistan, who were caught in Greece and accompanied by children, told that they experienced great fear.

Zehra Etayi (19), one of the women who hid their faces because they were afraid, said that after she was caught in Greece, the soldiers took them to an unknown point.

Etayi said, "They beat us there, took our valuables and sent us back to Türkiye with our feet bare.
We stayed there for 3 nights. They didn't give us food or water. They even made us drink dirty water. We don't know where they're taking us. We had our own food with us, but they took them too. They brought us towards the customs wall in Türkiye and left us there.

We were too many, around 45 people. It was very cold at night, we stayed there. We stayed in that cold until morning. After we crossed to the Turkish side, the Turkish soldiers set fire to us, warmed us up, and then gave us food. Then thel called a bus and brought us here. I wanted to go to Germany via Greece," she said.

"THEY BEATED, THEN THROWED TO THE EVROS RIVER"

One of the immigrants, Alinur Rashadi, an Iranian national, said that they were captured by soldiers on the Greek side they passed. Rashadi, who had bruises on her face and was treated, said, "We went to that side, the soldiers caught us. We had a guide, he escaped. The soldiers beat us. They asked us, 'Where did the guide go? Show us where he is.' We don't know either. They hit us harder then they put us in the back of a vehicle. They caught 30-40 people at once. They sent us back towards Evros (Meriç). They took all of our belongings. They beat us again like me. They took our phones, everything from us.

Then they sent some of us to Türkiye by boat, and they threw some of us into the water in the middle of the river Evros. We swam towards Türkiye. There, Türkiye's soldiers set fire to us. On the Greek side, 4-5 people beat me at once. They beat me so much that I passed out. Then when I came to my senses, they picked us up and sent us back by boat. They hit the tree with the fist and the tree with everything. They shot with whatever they could get their hands on. I was unrecognizable, my eyes were swollen. I am much better now. After the fire started, they called the ambulance. They took me to the hospital. There were first interventions. They gave medicine and then we came here. Here they arranged everything for us, gave us solid food. I am much better now.

I haven't decided yet, but I want to stay in Türkiye for a few months. We will apply to the European Court of Human Rights. They arranged a lawyer for us, we will meet with the lawyer," he said.
