Greek Police Union says OECD trust report raises alarm for democracy
The Federation of Greek Police Officers (P.O.A.S.Y.) said the latest OECD report on public trust in institutions should serve as a warning for the state of democracy, stressing that declining confidence in public institutions requires immediate political attention.
In a statement, the federation argued that the OECD findings reflect a broader crisis of public trust and called for reforms aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability and institutional credibility. The union said restoring citizens' confidence in democratic institutions should become a national priority.
The OECD's 2026 Survey on Drivers of Trust in Public Institutions found that trust in governments across member countries remains under pressure, with transparency, responsiveness and integrity identified as key factors shaping public confidence.
