Floods in Greece: Death toll rises to 15
According to the statement made by the Greek Fire Brigade, the body of a 58-year-old man who was reported missing since Wednesday in Karditsa was reached. The lifeless body of the missing person in Pilio was found in Evia. Thus, the number of deaths in the flood disaster increased to 15.
RESCUE EFFORTS CONTINUE
Due to the rising water in the Pinio River, many settlements were evacuated as a precautionary measure. Many settlements in Kardiça, Trikala and Larisa in the Thessaly Region are still under water. Rescue operations for those trapped by the floods continue from air, land and coast guard boats.
MITSOTAKIS TO VISIT THE REGION
According to the statement made by the Prime Ministry, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will inspect the region in the evening. Mitsotakis is expected to make a statement regarding the aid for the flood victims.
