Felony charges filed against Agrinio hospital staff over 40 Covid-19 deaths

A prosecutor in Agrinio, western Greece, has launched a criminal investigation and filed felony charges over 40 Covid-19-related deaths at the local general hospital during the pandemic.
According to public broadcaster ERT, felony charges for endangering human life were filed against members of the hospital’s former administration, ICU medical and nursing staff, and potentially others who may be identified during the investigation.
All 40 patients treated in the hospital’s Covid Intensive Care Unit reportedly died, amounting to a 100% mortality rate.
Relatives of the deceased had been pursuing legal action for the past four years to uncover any potential wrongdoing.
The case has been assigned to an investigative judge, who will determine whether it proceeds to trial based on the evidence gathered.
