Greece reports 12 new flu deaths as ICU cases increase
Greek health authorities reported 12 additional deaths linked to influenza complications, with 19 patients currently being treated in intensive care units, according to the latest epidemiological report.
Despite a slight decline in flu positivity rates in the community, pressure on hospitals continues to rise. Hospital admissions increased to 649 over the past week, up from 613 previously.
Since the start of the surveillance period, 36 flu-related deaths and 105 ICU admissions have been recorded nationwide. Influenza type A remains dominant, with the A(H3) subtype prevailing.
The COVID-19 situation remains relatively stable, with hospital admissions declining to 119 and eight deaths reported. However, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) positivity is on the rise, adding to the strain on the healthcare system.
Health officials continue to urge vaccination and early medical consultation, particularly for vulnerable groups, as multiple respiratory viruses circulate.
