Cruise ship carrying Israeli tourists protested in Patra
A cruise ship carrying Israeli tourists was protested by pro-Palestinian groups after it was scheduled to arrive at Patra Port but changed its route due to anticipated demonstrations.
The ship, Crown Iris, had been expected to dock at Patra, located on the Peloponnese Peninsula. However, following calls for anti-Israel protests at the port, the vessel diverted to Katakolo Port.
Despite the route change, protesters who had gathered at Patra Port marched toward the city center carrying banners in support of Palestine and chanting slogans such as “Freedom for Palestine,” condemning Israel’s attacks on the Palestinian territories.
This is not the first incident for the Crown Iris in the region. The ship had arrived at Kalamata Port on the Peloponnese Peninsula the previous day, where it was similarly met with pro-Palestinian demonstrations.
