Center-left parties struggle as support wanes

Greece’s center-left parties are facing a polling crisis, with most struggling to regain momentum ahead of upcoming elections. Only the anti-establishment Course of Freedom, led by outspoken former speaker Zoe Konstantopoulou, appears to be gaining ground, now polling second nationally.

PASOK, despite its role as the official opposition, has failed to capitalize on its position. The party faces internal turmoil after the expulsion of MP Katerina Batzeli and has stagnated around 14%. Leader Nikos Androulakis acknowledged a “dip” in support but remains optimistic.

SYRIZA, stuck near 6-7%, suffers from internal divisions and stalled talks with New Left. Analysts say its refusal to form alliances is costing it support.

Meanwhile, New Left and MeRA25 are hovering near the threshold for parliamentary entry, with limited public appeal. The Communist Party (KKE), polling near 8%, rejects any center-left coalition.

The fractured landscape leaves the center-left disoriented, while Course of Freedom is seizing the moment with rising momentum and bold messaging.
