GAGIAD project realised in Greece
The Greek activity of the project "Knowledge Appraisal and Awareness Dialogue between Business People and New Participants for a Resilient Green Development", supported by the Turkish National Agency and the European Commission, implemented with the coordination of Gaziantep Young Business People Association (GAGİAD), was implemented in Athens.
According to the statement made by GAGİAD, the stakeholders who completed the first four activities of the project in different countries met in Athens with the theme of encouraging women to work in high-tech fields by focusing on areas related to the green deal.
Stakeholders from Spain, Luxembourg, Denmark and Greece, as well as Türkiye, met for the first time within the scope of the project last year between 20-21 September in Gaziantep, hosted by GAGİAD.
The stakeholders continued to come together with different agendas hosted by other stakeholders after seeing the exemplary practices of green cities implemented in Gaziantep.
In the meeting where examples from Türkiye were explained, negotiations were also held within the scope of new collaborations.
GAGİAD Chairman of the Board of Directors Cihan Koçer, whose views were included in the statement, stated that the project is coming to an end, that the topics of the project are important for the world agenda by obtaining this experience with transnational stakeholders.
Stating that they have taken an issue that will touch the whole world on their agenda in Athens activity, Koçer noted that they want to increase the employability and awareness of business women.
Koçer emphasised that how technology can be used to benefit from vocational training provided through social networking and e-learning platforms will also be evaluated within the scope of this project.
Expressing their desire to take part in online and international events to exchange experiences, knowledge and skills as well as information, Koçer said, "In the Athens leg of our project, the search for policies that address the current gender inequality in the world, unbalanced investments are carried out in order to expand the gender employment and investment gap in the green and technology sectors, which are still predominantly dominated by men. However, we will continue to support the project and provide the support we can for women employment and women entrepreneurs to be more intense in this field."
Visit to Athens Ambassador Çağatay Erciyes
GAGİAD President Koçer, accompanied by Board Members Metin Tepe and Halit Güleç, visited Athens Ambassador Çağatay Erciyes in his office.
In his speech here, Koçer emphasised that they want to increase exports from Gaziantep, Türkiye's most important export city, to Greece.
Ambassador Erciyes, on the other hand, stated that he closely follows the potential of Gaziantep in the field of production and exports and that they would like to see more Gaziantep business people in Greece.
