In the elections held in the German state of Bremen, 10 Turkish origin state deputies were elected.

According to the provisional results announced, Mustafa Güngör, Mehmet Ali Seyrek, Recai Aytaş, Medine Yıldız and Selin Ece Arpaz from the Social Democratic Party (SPD), Oğuzhan Yazıcı from the Christian Democratic Union Party (CDU), Sülmez Çolak from the Green Party and Cindi Tuncel and Muhlis Kocaoğlu from the Left Party. 10 deputies were elected, including Meltem Sağıroğlu from the Angry Citizen (BIW) party.

Accordingly, the number of Turkish-origin politicians in the state, which was 6 in the previous legislative period, rose to 10.

In the 87-seat Bremen state assembly, the SPD won 27, the CDU 24, the Greens 11, the Left Party 10, the BIW 10 and the FDP 5 seats.

After the establishment of the Bremen state government, deputies to be appointed to the post of senators will have to leave the state legislature.

After this, there may be an increase in the number of representatives of Turkish origin, as there will be a chance to enter the parliament from the reserve ranks.

In the election held on May 14, 27 candidates of Turkish origin competed to enter the provincial assembly.
