WTMUGA hosts event on "Child Health and Psychology: First Aid and Mental Well-being"
On Saturday, November 23, 2024, the Women’s Committee of the Western Thrace Minority Higher Education Graduates Association (WTMUGA) organized an event titled "Child Health and Psychology: First Aid and Mental Well-being" in the village of Demircik, Xanthi.
The event featured Pediatrician Münevver Ago and Psychologist Sibel Top as speakers.
Dr. Münevver Ago covered essential first aid topics, including responses to airway blockages, burns, drowning, fractures, allergic reactions, shock, high fever, seizures, poisoning, minor injuries, and emergency signs in children.
Psychologist Sibel Top discussed the definition and importance of psychological first aid, managing crises in children, post-trauma stress symptoms, emotional reactions, creating safe environments, the role of family and community, effective communication with children, short-term psychological support, professional assistance, and considerations in psychological first aid practices.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, allowing participants to engage directly with the speakers.
