Working visit by Deputy Minister Aleksandropoulou
Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Hristina Alexandropoulou met today (Friday 17 May) with the Vice-President of the Province of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace İrfan Hacıgene in a working meeting. The meeting was attended by infrastructure and transport officials from across the province, both in person and online.
After the working meeting, it was noted that as a result of the unanimous decision of the State Assembly of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace, the year 2024 was determined as "Road and traffic safety in the State of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace". According to the decision in question, activities are planned to be held in order to ensure transport safety throughout the state.
In his speech at the meeting, Deputy Minister Alexandropoulou referred to the strategic objectives of the national transport plan. He stressed the importance of economic development at the state and national level, the functioning of transport networks, the connection of the mainland and inter-island transport network, inter-system cooperation and the development of border connections with the countries that are members of the European Union or not.
A large part of the meeting was devoted to the projects related to the ministry's goal of reducing the number of people who lose their lives in traffic accidents.
