Pitiakoudis re-elected as president of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Regional Council
Michalis Pitiakoudis has been re-elected as President of the Regional Council of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, while Sofia Psoma was elected as the council's vice president following the latest leadership vote.
The new leadership was confirmed during a session of the Regional Council, where members elected the body's presiding officers for the new term.
Pitiakoudis will continue to chair the council's proceedings, overseeing deliberations and the legislative work of the regional authority. Sofia Psoma will serve as vice president, assisting in the management of council sessions and institutional responsibilities.
The Regional Council is the main decision-making body of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, responsible for debating and approving regional policies, development initiatives and administrative matters.
