Regional officials said the drones will support early wildfire detection, monitor high-risk areas and provide real-time information to firefighting and civil protection authorities. The initiative forms part of broader efforts to improve response times and coordination during emergencies.

The region has also increased operational readiness by enhancing cooperation among civil protection agencies, local authorities and emergency services as wildfire risk remains elevated during the summer months.

Officials urged residents to strictly follow fire prevention regulations and immediately report any signs of wildfire to emergency services.

The additional drone capacity is expected to improve situational awareness and enable faster intervention before fires spread to larger areas.
