The Advisory Board of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace announced that it brought the concerns of the Western Thrace Turkish community to the international stage during the fifth edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
The three-day forum gathered participants from more than 150 countries, including 23 heads of state and government, along with thousands of diplomats, policymakers, and international representatives, reinforcing its status as a key global diplomacy platform.
During the forum, the WTMUGA delegation held a series of high-level meetings, including talks with Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, and various diplomats and political representatives from different countries.
According to the statement, discussions focused on core challenges facing the Western Thrace Turkish minority, particularly in the areas of education, religious freedoms, and institutional representation. The delegation emphasized that raising these issues in an international diplomatic environment was a significant step toward increasing global awareness.
Observers note that the board has intensified its diplomatic engagement in recent years, aiming to make minority rights issues more visible on the international agenda.
WTMUGA representatives described the meetings as “highly productive,” highlighting that engagement with Türkiye’s diplomatic channels contributes to the minority’s ongoing efforts to secure its rights.
