GAT continues its 12 months 12 happiness project

The Young Academics Association (GAT), operating under the Western Thrace Minority Higher Education Association, has continued its “12 Months, 12 Happiness” social responsibility initiative with a food aid campaign for families in need in September.

As part of the initiative, carried out under the theme “September act of kindness,” GAT members prepared and delivered packages containing basic food and essential supplies to families in need.

The organization said the initiative aims to carry out a different act of kindness each month, reaching different sections of the community through solidarity and voluntary participation.

Food assistance for families in need
GAT members personally delivered the prepared aid packages to families, highlighting the importance of community solidarity and sharing.

In a statement, the organization emphasized that the September campaign was intended to contribute to the tables of families experiencing financial difficulties while strengthening a culture of mutual support.

“Being together wherever there is kindness and solidarity is a source of happiness for us. Being able to contribute to a family's table and touch someone's heart is the greatest happiness for us,” GAT said.

The Young Academics Association also thanked everyone who contributed to and supported the initiative, stressing the broader message behind the project.

“Kindness grows when it is shared, and solidarity becomes hope as it grows,” the organization said.

Project continues with monthly initiatives
The “12 Months, 12 Happiness” project began in April and features a different social responsibility activity each month.

The first initiative focused on providing food for stray animals in Gümülcine and surrounding areas. Since then, GAT has continued the project with activities designed to provide practical support to different groups within the community.

The September food assistance campaign marks another step in the organization's ongoing efforts to promote volunteering, solidarity and social responsibility in Western Thrace.
