The Turkish community radios of Western Thrace, Çınar FM and Radyo Kulüp were presented at the conference organized by the International Balkan University in Skopje.
Kastamonu University Faculty of Communication Deputy Dean Assoc. Dr. Ersoy Soydan talked about Western Thrace's Turkish community radios Çınar FM and Radio Kulüp at the 3rd International Social and Human Sciences Conference organized by the International Balkan University in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
Assoc. Dr. Ersoy Soydan has carried out many studies on Turkish radio and television broadcasting in Europe and the Balkans, especially the Workshop on Turkish Radio Broadcasting in the Balkans. Soydan, in the Communication Session of the 3rd International Social and Human Sciences Conference with the main theme “Challenges of the Changing World – Building a Safer Future”, which was held on Thursday, June 10, 2021, in which he was the chairman of the “Community Radios in Western Thrace: Çınar FM and Radio Kulüp” He made his presentation titled “Club”. This study was recorded as the first scientific study in which Turkish community radios in Western Thrace were analyzed in depth.
Soydan starting with Çınar FM, expressed the problems that the radio faces amid racism. Accordingly, the radio station has been damaged several times, the crew was threatened, and the administrators were sentenced to prison. Also, with the new legislation, the Station is expected to be closed on the grounds that it is not Inc.
Radyo Kulüp, as "the sound of the İskeçe (Xanthi) Turkish Union on the line". “Radio Kulüp”, which was established as an association-community radio, is non-profit. Radio Kulüp's broadcasts are made under the responsibility and administration of the İskeçe Turkish Union Board of Directors.
