Greek authorities have arrested two Turkish nationals accused of attempting to smuggle 50 untraceable firearms, commonly known as "ghost guns," into the country through the Meriç border region.

According to Greek police, the suspects concealed the weapons inside the cabin of a truck before they were discovered during an inspection. Investigators said the firearms lacked serial numbers, making them difficult to trace.

Authorities believe the weapons were intended for distribution among criminal networks operating in Greece. The suspects have been charged with weapons trafficking, while the seized firearms have been sent for forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

The case forms part of broader efforts by Greek law enforcement to combat illegal arms trafficking across the country's northeastern border.
