Turkish-language textbooks arrive in Western Thrace for new school year
The textbooks, prepared by Türkiye’s Ministry of National Education, arrived in the region on Wednesday, September 23, and are expected to be distributed to Turkish minority schools across Western Thrace in the coming days.
TEXTBOOKS TO BE DISTRIBUTED TO MINORITY SCHOOLS
The books will be used by students attending Turkish minority schools during the new academic year. Their arrival in Gümülcine marks the first stage of the distribution process, with deliveries to individual schools expected to follow.
The textbooks were sent from Türkiye as part of the existing educational arrangements and cooperation between Türkiye and Greece concerning the education of the Turkish minority in Western Thrace.
The annual delivery of Turkish-language educational materials is intended to meet the textbook needs of minority schools for the new academic year.
NEW SCHOOL YEAR BEGINS WITH TEXTBOOK DISTRIBUTION
The 2026–2027 academic year is expected to see the newly delivered Turkish-language textbooks distributed to schools throughout the region.
The materials cover Turkish-language instruction and will be made available to students as schools continue preparations for the new school year.
