Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities commemorate the ITB case on their social media accounts
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities shared the Xanthi Turkish Union logo on the anniversary of the ECtHR's decision on Western Thrace Turkish Minority Associations.
13 years have passed since the decision of the European Court of Human Rights declared on 27 March 2008 and that the Xanthi Turkish Union and the Turkish Women Cultural Association in Rhodope were justified and convicted Greece. Greece has not implemented decisions regarding minority associations for 13 years.
President Abdullah Eren shared the following on the subject on social media:
"In 1983, the signs of all associations with Turkish names in Greece were removed! Exactly 13 years ago today, on 27 March 2008, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) convicted Greece for this attitude! But the decision is still not implemented!"
