Traditional Fecirli (Fıçıllı) iftar, with high participation!

An iftar dinner organized on Sunday, March 26 in the village of Fecirli (known as Fıçıllı) in Xanthi. 

The mass iftar held at the Muharrem Bin Hacı Mümin Ağa Mosque in Fecirli (Fıçıllı) village, one of the abandoned villages of Xanthi and where only 8 Muslim Turkish families live today, took place with high attendance.

Türkiye's Consul General to Komotini Aykut Ünal and his wife İlayda Ünal participated in the Fecirli (Fıçıllı) fast-breaking dinner which has been organized regularly in recent years and has become a tradition .

With the participation of Aykut Ünal in Fecirli (Fıçıllı) iftar, this was the first time that at the level of the Turkish Consul General to participate in this traditional iftar dinner in this village. 

It was observed that there was a higher participation rate than previous years in the iftar program , which was held with the contribution of a benevolent businessman and where invited compatriots from different parts of Xanthi came together .

The spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan was felt at the iftar which brought together our compatriots from different places.

Iftar with many men, women and children.  The joy of  compatriots, who congratulated and chatted with each other, could be seen in their eyes. Many people say, "We did well and came here. What a beautiful village. It's nice to take care of our beautiful mosque, which is a heirloom from our ancestors." It was the most obvious manifestation of the sincere atmosphere.

In the speeches made after the iftar, the importance of protecting such works and events was emphasized. On the one hand, it was emphasized that the abandoned state of the village was heartbreaking, but on the other hand, the importance of the efforts to protect it.
