Mayor of Kelsterbach visits Mufti Trampa in İskeçe
The Mayor of Kelsterbach, a town near Frankfurt, Germany, Manfred Ockel, paid an official visit to Mufti of İskeçe and President of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board, Mustafa Trampa, on Saturday, October 11.
The German delegation, which traveled from Kelsterbach — home to a large number of Western Thrace Turks — visited İskeçe to learn more about the region and its local community.
The delegation included Kelsterbach Municipal Council Members Veysel Pountso (HAK) and Vasilios Angelis (SPD), as well as Muharrem Pountso, an administrator of the IGMG Kelsterbach Mosque.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the Western Thrace Turkish Minority and exchanged views on maintaining cultural and social ties between the Turkish community in Germany and Western Thrace.
Following the visit, Mufti Trampa expressed his appreciation in a statement:
“Today, as part of a series of programs in İskeçe, we hosted Kelsterbach Mayor Manfred Ockel, Municipal Council Members Veysel Pountso (HAK) and Vasilios Angelis (SPD), and IGMG Kelsterbach Mosque Administrator Muharrem Pountso.
