Thousands of kinsmen attend the Ketenlik hatim ceremony
A hatim ceremony was organised for the students of Ketenlik Qur'un Course, which continues its activities within the body of Xanthi Mufti's Office. Thousands of kinsmen attended the ceremony.
Ketenlik village, which has the largest population in Mustafçova Municipality of Xanthi, hosted thousands of cognates with a hatim ceremony on Sunday 19 May.
In the hatim ceremony organised in Ketenlik Upper Mosque, the students of the Qur'an Course affiliated to the Mufti's Office of Xanthi took part.
Male and female students recited the Holy Quran, poems, hymns and odes.
The performance of the students, who were meticulously trained and prepared for the ceremony by the teachers of the Qur'an Course, was appreciated by thousands of people attending the ceremony.
Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, who participated in the ceremony, made the prayer and the opening speech. Mufti Trampa congratulated Ketenlik village for this beautiful event and emphasised the importance of unity. Mufti Trampa conveyed the greetings and love of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to the Turks of Western Thrace, whom he met last week in Istanbul.
After Mufti Trampa, Fatih Ismailko, member of the State Assembly from Ketenlikli and Yunus Topçu, FEP Party MEP Candidate, made short welcoming speeches.
Afterwards, WTMUGA President Hüseyin Baltacı, ITB President Ozan Ahmetoğlu, State Vice President İrfan Hacıgene, Mayor of Mustafçova Ahmet Kurt and Xanthi MP Hüseyin Zeybek also made speeches on the meaning of the day.
After the greeting speeches, the protocol members and the children who made the hatim were presented with flowers.
Ketenlikli Quran Course students did not forget the atrocities committed in Gaza.
It was noteworthy that all the students wearing badges reminding that Palestine is under persecution.
After the ceremony, together with the President of the FEP Party Çiğdem Asafoğlu and some MEP candidates, a coffee was drunk in the village square with the cognates from Ketenlik.
Thousands of thousands of people attending the hatim ceremony in Ketenlik village were served pilaf with meat and ayran in the mosque and in the village square.
