Yassıköy mayor İmam condemns attack on Çınar Mosque
Yassıköy Mayor Caner İmam has condemned the vandalism targeting Çınar Mosque in İskeçe (Xanthi), where offensive expressions were written by unidentified individuals on the exterior wall near the mosque’s entrance.
In a written statement, İmam said such provocative acts targeting places of worship are unacceptable and should not be allowed to undermine social peace and the culture of living together.

İmam stressed that acts of disrespect and provocation directed at places of worship should not be tolerated.
“Such disrespectful and provocative acts targeting our places of worship must not be allowed to harm social peace and our culture of living together,” İmam said.
The Yassıköy mayor also expressed his hope that those responsible for the incident would be identified as soon as possible and that the necessary legal procedures would be carried out.

İmam called for the perpetrators of the incident to be identified without delay, emphasizing the importance of taking the necessary action over the vandalism at the historic mosque.
