The Longed For Season: Three Months and Regâib Night

The message of Mufti of Xanthi Mustafa Trampa for the Three Months and Regâib Kandili is as follows:

Dear Muslim Turkish Brothers and Sisters!

Thanks be to our Lord, we have reached the beginning of the months of Rajab, Sha'ban and Ramadan, which our great nation, which is devoted to Islam wholeheartedly, attaches special importance to by calling them "three months". On the evening of Thursday, 11 January next year, we will celebrate the Kandil of Regâib and enter the three months. Our beloved Prophet prayed more than ever during these months and said, "O Allah! Make the months of Rajab and Sha'ban blessed for us and bring us to the month of Ramadan!" Undoubtedly, these months are very precious opportunities to rest our souls, which are overwhelmed by the heavy busyness of the world, and to seek refuge in the mercy and compassion of Allah Almighty in the consciousness of servitude. The prayers, repentance, repentance, charity and good deeds to be done in these months will find their reward in the sight of our Lord. Our Prophet Muhammad (s.a.s.) says the following about the three months:

"Rajab is the month of Allah, Sha'ban is my month and Ramadan is the month of my ummah."

The months of Rajab, Sha'ban and Ramadan are virtuous and auspicious periods of time offered to our souls by Allah Almighty. It is the season of opportunities where the wishes made reach Allah in waves and the tears of regret wipe away the sins.

The three months are a good opportunity to open a brand new page with a heart full of faith by accounting for the past and learning from our regrets. The blessed three months and the holy months are extremely valuable opportunities for us to take ourselves into account in our lives and to see our mistakes, to get away from our worldly preoccupations, to think about the purpose of our creation, to evaluate our relations with the creator and the creatures.

The blessed three months, which we will observe these days, should remind us of our duties and responsibilities towards our Creator, our family, our children, our nation and all humanity, and should be an occasion for us to return from our mistakes, negligence and defects.

Dear Brothers and Sisters!

The night connecting the first Thursday evening of the month of Rajab, the first of the three months, to Friday is the Regaib Kandil. Insha'Allah, we will observe the Regaib Kandil on the night connecting Thursday 11 January to Friday. Regâib means longed for, desired and valued. This night has been named "Regâib" due to the fact that the divine grants and spiritual gifts of Allah Almighty are manifested more than other times, the forgiveness of those who turn to Allah with a sincere heart is hoped and desired by the believers.

Dear Compatriots!

The first thing to be done on the night of Regâib is self-accounting. Then the things that should not be neglected are repentance and prayer. At a time when the balance between matter and meaning is disrupted in favour of matter, when conflicts between people and societies negatively affect the whole world, when weapons speak instead of compassion and tolerance, we need self-examination, repentance and prayer more than ever. When self-examination, which our religion insistently recommends, is neglected, human existence becomes worthless. Injustice, injustice, corruption and unrest arise in the world.

The Qandil of Regâib is a unique opportunity for us in terms of doing the self-accountancy we have mentioned and for people to get themselves in order. So, if we have mistakes tonight, let's abandon them. Let's throw our bad feelings and thoughts from our hearts. Let us leave aside the things that make us forget Allah and His Messenger. In our Holy Book, "He who purifies his soul has surely attained salvation. And he who leaves it alone with its desires is wasted." So let us avoid envy, hatred, enmity, injustice and cruelty that pollute our hearts and souls. Let us approach each other, our relatives and all humanity with love and kindness. Let us be in unity and solidarity against the enmities that surround our world. May our hearts be filled with these beautiful feelings. May Allah's mercy and blessings be upon us.

On this occasion, I would like to congratulate you on the "Three Months" and "Regâib Kandili", which we are looking forward to, and ask the Almighty Mevlâ to make us among his servants who seek him with Regâib, who are glorified with Miraj, who reach salvation with Berat, and who deserve paradise at the end of Ramadan by realising Kadrini.
