Trakya University Rector Hatipler meets with Western Thrace Muftis in Edirne
Trakya University Rector Prof. Dr. Mustafa Hatipler met with Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board President and Mufti of İskeçe Mustafa Trampa, along with Mufti of Gümülcine İbrahim Şerif, in Edirne.
The meeting took place during the visit of a delegation accompanying Türkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s program in the city.
Focus on Students and Education
During the discussions, several issues concerning the Turkish community of Western Thrace were addressed, with particular emphasis on the academic situation of Western Thracian students studying at Trakya University.
Participants reviewed the challenges faced by students and exchanged views on their educational needs and expectations.
Invitation for Further Cooperation
At the conclusion of the meeting, İskeçe Mufti Mustafa Trampa and Gümülcine Mufti İbrahim Şerif invited Rector Hatipler to visit Western Thrace for further discussions and expanded institutional engagement.
The meeting was described as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic and community ties between Türkiye and the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace.
