Road safety education session held at Yassıköy Minority Primary School by Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region

An educational road safety initiative was carried out on Thursday, June 10, 2026, at the Minority Primary School of Yassıköy, organized by the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace through its Directorate of Transport and Communications, in cooperation with the Iasmos Police Department.

The program aimed to raise awareness among students about road safety, safe mobility, and the importance of developing traffic consciousness from an early age.

Students showed strong engagement throughout the session, demonstrating high levels of attention, interest, and knowledge. Their responses to questions posed by instructors were described as accurate and meaningful, earning praise from organizers and attendees.

As part of the event, the Yassıköy Police Department conducted a raffle in which five bicycle helmets were awarded to students. Following the draw, the Mayor of Iasmos announced a further initiative, donating a bicycle helmet to every student at the school, reinforcing the message of road safety and prevention in a practical way.

The initiative was widely welcomed as a meaningful contribution to children’s safety awareness and community engagement.
