BAKEŞ publishes New Children’s book “Mavi Ev” inspired by Western Thrace life

The Western Thrace Minority Culture and Education Company (BAKEŞ) has announced the publication of a new children’s book titled “Mavi Ev” (The Blue House), written by İskeçe-based author Lütfiye Hacı Hüseyin.

The Western Thrace Minority Culture and Education Company (BAKEŞ) has announced the publication of a new children’s book titled “Mavi Ev” (The Blue House), written by İskeçe-based author Lütfiye Hacı Hüseyin.

In its official statement, BAKEŞ noted that the book is inspired by events taking place throughout the four seasons in various villages and towns of Western Thrace. The work consists of twelve engaging short stories that reflect everyday life experiences of children in the region.

Themes of Culture, Values, and Daily Life
The book addresses universal values such as love for animals and nature, the importance of reading habits, kindness, honesty, healthy nutrition, and awareness of superstitions. It also highlights the cultural, historical, and social fabric of Western Thrace, portraying village life in a warm and authentic narrative style.

According to BAKEŞ, “Mavi Ev” is designed as a collection of stories that children can enjoy while also drawing meaningful life lessons. The publication is described as a work that bridges the past and the future, strengthens a sense of belonging, and helps preserve values that are at risk of being forgotten.

Contribution to Children’s Literature in Western Thrace
BAKEŞ emphasized that the newly published book is expected to make a significant contribution to children’s literature in Western Thrace. The organization also expressed its satisfaction with bringing the work to readers, underlining its importance in promoting cultural continuity and educational enrichment for younger generations.
